Leeches 05:23
He laid down, I pressed my words so gently like leeches upon him, Wept as I lay seeds down. He laid down, I freed the chains so cruelly, he begged me to leave him a prisoner of himself. I have no guilt my love, only pity You have no guilt my love, only fear.
2.
Horns Off 04:43
Lying here waiting to escape the heavy bodyweight on top of me. Saliva is the pool on my neck The breathing corpse, I wrestle it off me. Poured it all away, stinking now, I skulk away. The froth in the cold grass soaking My love is only pretend, Sorry for the trouble I've caused, Self-deceit is the truth of it all The lies I tell to keep you here with me.
3.
Come scarpe yourself up off the ground Come, let me show you what I've found Lights in the eyes of the ugly Lights as they stomp around. The blast of music on gnarled ears Come! there's no need to blush down here. Come and flaunt your homely face Come! Nobody's out of place Except the winners in life, who we must turn away. No winners here! Turn away beauty, turn away, At last, no sneering laughter to fear We all smell bad down here, Dance with me, dance with me, down here.
4.
Salvage 04:23
I trusted you, I trusted you, I trusted you even with the holes in your arms to see through. I trusted you, then you slipped through my arms like a fish. What a fool I was to love you, when you had your own baby who'll Love you to death. Out of a grotesque embrace into control My heart a swinging brick beneath my breasts, I trusted you - even I! I trusted you, why? And now we feel flickers of hate and my cheek's still burning. So don't say you haven't been warned And don't say you wish you'd never been born Let the linen dry, the stains cannot wash out The eternal cry...

Eel Pout 04:32
Here it comes- now! Are you fit for this? Brrrrrr No box, no label, turn it on its head and lay it on the table. No light house, just wriggling in shreds of hair Icy, icy, icy, icy See them bangin' against the rocks,Out there, out there, out there. Eel pout, burbot, blenny child, No tears, no trouble, Turn him around and burst his bubble. Flying deep down, kiss the salty rain, Rising rising rising rising Hear them bangin' against the rocks Out there.
6.
Gluttony 05:09
Between the boards hot liquid seeps There's something sad between the sheets A craze has clutched me now, it'll pass between my fingers like my hair Pass out. Within me, there's such violence It's crawling up my spine, the wringing, clinging fingers They cringe, they spin, they wind me up. Imagination tells me tales of treachery I somehow can't identify the enemy I build a tent inside my bed And there I place my head and pass out.
7.
Sensitive 03:50
Upon your lips I find escape from other games I've found a well of oily flames Sensitive I clutched your legs, how you fell the swinging light between heaven and hell. Sensitive I feel Don't let it slip away.
8.
Tasty 03:46
Tasty - like a flea-bitten head in brine Tasty - oh god the things you find sometimes. Take it away!! Tasty - shake your pretty arse out the window Shake it out the window Pretty tasty.

about

Recorded in 1989, this album was recorded for One Little Indian records. Possibly the most experimental and ambitious music I have recorded, it features a strong line-up, with Nick Page on guitar, Dave Bryant on drums, Simon Smith on sax and Michael Joseph on bass. The artwork is by myself, photographer Stephen Lovell-Davis and set builder Peter Smith. Internal politics at the label (which had previously focused on experimental music but was switching to commercial indie-pop) meant that the album was never released properly.
